The good folks at Red Lobster were kind enough to let me know by email today that the location at 3815 S. Lamar has closed.
For years, that location was a part of your community celebrations and special moments. We’re incredibly grateful for every guest who pulled up a chair, passed a basket of Cheddar Bay Biscuits® and made memories with us along the way.
Yeah. My mother and I went there from time to time (as that was the closest one to our house) and we had our share of experiences there. In recent years, those experiences ranged from “mediocre” to “unpleasant”. I was frankly shocked that this location didn’t shut down in the first wave of closures.
This also prompted me to go looking, and (per their corporate website) the location at 109 W. Anderson Lane (that’s the one that was off the 183 frontage road, near I-35) is also “temporarily closed”. The only location that seems to be left in the Austin area is in Round Rock, at the La Frontera center.
